Taking care of laminate flooring

On November 7, 2015, in Floor Cleaning, by admin

88-laminate-cleaningWith proper care laminate flooring is able to last for decades. There are some simple rules that will help to prolong its life:

• Daily cleaning with a special mop for laminate flooring or a vacuum cleaner.

• Selection and use of detergents according to the type of laminate flooring.

• Cleaning of heavy dirt and stubborn stains using the right techniques and means.

• Using for wet cleaning only slightly damp mop or floor cloth, as the laminate flooring is “afraid” of water.

Removing stains and heavy dirt from laminate flooring

To remove stains from laminate flooring some special cleaning sprays are recommended for use. The agent is applied to the stain, and after a few minutes, is removed with a slightly damp cloth. Then the floor is wiped dry. It is strongly not recommended to use a hard bristle brush for this purpose – you will unlikely get rid of the stain, but the structure of the laminate flooring will be damaged.
Different methods of removal are used for the stains of different types.

For the stains of:

• juice, chocolate, alcoholic beverages and fat – special cleaning sprays;

• nail polish, lipstick, ink, pencil and resin – acetone or methyl alcohol;

• chewing gum or wax – mechanical methods (after drying of the stain it should be carefully scraped off).

There are also some peculiarities for different types of laminate flooring:

Matte laminate flooring.
Such flooring becomes dirty very quickly, that is why it requires more careful maintenance and regular cleaning. To remove heavy dirt, use a special spray for matte surfaces. If you overdid with the agent, an oily film may remain on the surface, which can be easily removed with alcohol-containing spray.

• Polished laminate flooring.
On a smooth polished surface the slightest contamination is much more visible: hairs, dust and even water stains. So after cleaning it is always recommended to rub the floor using a special dry mop. Moreover, you should not walk barefoot on such flooring – the footprints are left on the surface, especially if some cream was applied to the feet before this.

Following these simple rules and recommendations, you will maintain the purity and beauty of laminate flooring, significantly prolonging its service life.

Such cleaning should be performed at least annually. But if you decided to clean your upholstered furniture yourself, you may follow some professional pieces of advice.

To clean the upholstered furniture and not to damage it
To remove dust from upholstered furniture use dry cleaning with a vacuum cleaner. For this purpose time use a special soft upholstery nozzle and the average engine speed. The wet cleaning is used for deeper cleaning and stain removal.

Steam cleaning
If you are a happy owner of a vacuum cleaner with a steam cleaner, you can use it to perform a deep cleaning of upholstered furniture from dust and dust mites. It is important that the vacuum cleaner is equipped with a highly efficient multi-stage filtration system.

Chemical cleaning
You may use some special cleaning agents that are suitable for the upholstery material of your upholstered furniture. Before using a cleaning agent try it on a small scrap of upholstery and let it dry. If the upholstery was not damaged during the treatment, apply the cleaning agent to small areas and carefully rub with a soft brush or sponge within less than a minute. The backrest should be the first to be cleaned, and then – armrests. The bottom part is the last one to be cleaned. The remains of a cleaning agent are collected with a vacuum cleaner. No need to dry upholstery with a hair dryer! The material should dry up naturally.

Old wives remedy
If the previous cleaning methods do not suit you, use the old natural home remedy. Dissolve 1 tablespoon of vinegar in 1 liter of water. Soak in this solution a large clean piece of cotton or linen cloth and squeeze it out well. Cover the sofa or chair with this piece of cloth and begin to dust off with soft beats of a beater. Wash the dirty cloth, soak it again in the solution of water and vinegar and repeat dusting off, until the cloth remains clean after dusting.

If your office is so cluttered that you don’t know where to start when it comes to cleaning, don’t get upset. We know how to help you. First of all break down the tasks into small chunks. If you don’t want to feel overwhelmed take one chunk at a time.

Dispose of your rubbish thoughtfully. Throw away everything you don’t need anymore. Get rid of outdated information and duplicate copies. Shred any papers that contain personal information. Cut your paper pile by throwing unneeded papers away. Then, sort the remaining papers into piles. Establish a filing system. After you’ve finished sorting the papers, file each pile in the appropriate file folder. This will help you keep your office organised and de-cluttered.

Buy file folders that fit in your cabinet. Also, purchase labels for that folders. But be aware that filing your papers is only half the battle. To keep your office organized and clean you should dust and vacuum it on a regular basis. Of course not every room in your office needs to be cleaned and vacuumed everyday. But still you should keep every room clean and fresh. You can choose to hire a cleaning service to maintain your office organized and cleaned. To help the cleaning service do its job well, make sure all papers, pens and pencils are put away and all the rubbish has been thrown out.

Remember that if you want to keep your office clean, keep it organized. Before you leave at the end of the day, take the last 10 minutes to organise your desk. That way you will start the next day with a clean and fresh space.

Every business looks for professional, reliable cleaning company that offers quality cleaning services. It’s very important to find a reliable and reputable cleaning provider whom you can trust your facility. Cleaners spend quite a long time in your offices, that’s why you want to be sure they are insured, bonded, and background checked.

Business owners want their offices to be not just “look-cleaned”, but “health-cleaned.” That’s why more and more cleaning companies turn to green cleaning services. They use environmentally friendly cleaning products and safe cleaning procedures. Cleaning providers apply safe and healthy practices in order to reduce the spread of cross-contamination and micro-organisms. Different procedures are very beneficial in reducing employee absenteeism and improving peace of mind.

It’s very important to spend your working time in a clean and sanitized office space especially with today’s health risks such as MRSA and viruses. Commercial cleaning companies strive to use the latest technology available, including:

microfiber cleaning cloths that are very effective at grabbing fine particles and oils that hide in the crevices of an office surface;

commercial vacuum equipment – high-powered, HEPA-filter vacuum system to help improve indoor air quality and get the space extra-clean, etc.

Look for a professional cleaning company that understands your needs and requirements.

How to clean computer CPU casing

On April 18, 2012, in Computer cleaning, by admin

Not everyone is brave enough to clean computer CPU casing. This is really not an easy task, but someone should accomplish it. So, here are the tools you need to use while cleaning CPU. Take soft cloth, pre-treated computer wipes, computer cleaning fluid, safety glasses, vacuum cleaner, compressed air, and some special cleaning attachments. Store the CPU on a solid surface to permit proper cooling and minimize dust. Then, thoroughly vacuum all cooling slots. Be careful don’t use compressed air on these openings. Otherwise, large amounts of dust will penetrate into the CPU, which is akin to pouring fine sand into the processor. It’s well known fact that water and blunt impacts are the easiest methods to break your computer.

If you care about the longevity of your CPU, keep the vents clean. This will maximizes airflow for cooling. Processor failures are most commonly associated with the contraction and expansion of components and connections. You can reduce the extremes between operating and shut down temperatures by keeping the overall operating temperature low. This will increase life span of your processor. Never spray any cleaning solution directly on your office equipment. Always spray the cloth and then wipe the equipment. Use plain water or specialized computer cleaning fluid. Dampen the soft cloth in it and wipe down the casing.

If you decide to remove the casing and clean inside, only compressed air should be used. Direct the air out and away from the casing. This will prevent the dust from driving deeper into cracks and crevices. It’s very easy to cause permanent damage to the processor. You can do this by not properly using a slightly errant brush, cloth, or vacuum. Remove the cover for the casing and wipe down the inside. Before taking any office equipment apart, don’t forget to check your warranty. These are some basics for having a clean computer.
